We’re only halfway through the traditional length of the season, and possibly it will come back with a vengeance, but for now winter is increasingly loosening its grasp on the valley.
I was out the door earlier than usual and on my normal route I detoured to the marina to see what I could catch with the camera. It was positively balmy compared to a “normal” February morning, and quite pretty, too.
Here’s the picture:
The ice is receding on the large expanses of open water and the returning geese are taking advantage of it. If there was a soundtrack to the scene it would be the sound of their calls as they took to the water or lifted off in search of food.
I wish I could have recorded some audio to go along with the shot, too. A beautiful start to another day – in sight and sound.
