Pipes and Poles

2014 is at its end…

It was a great year to be out and about with my camera. Quick math indicates 10,904 clicks of the shutter occurred this year – more if you count shots from my phone’s camera. Making pictures of landscapes, portraits and events resulted in 61 posts to my blog as well as other posts only to Facebook and Twitter.

We travelled a lot in the fall, too. I didn’t make pictures at every competition during marching band season but we travelled over 2,300 miles following Sky View to competitions up and down the state. I enjoy reviewing the pictures I’ve stored in my archives and it has been fun to select and share a few of them during the year.

Time for my parting shot of 2014: It was another clear as a bell morning today, without clouds to catch the sunrise. It was a quick stop in the frigid air to bail out of the car only to jump back inside a few seconds later to warm up. I worried about the result, but all was not lost thanks to the beautiful gradient of pink to blue appearing as the sky lightened. To mix it up a bit I stopped under the high voltage lines that run from Cutler to Oneida (or vice-versa) for this shot:

I thank you for your support and hope to find many more interesting shots to share with you in the coming year!

Wishing you a Happy New Year!
