Lately my photography related time has been spent finishing shots from my last portrait and event sessions, instead of finding new things to shoot. Realizing May is halfway spent I went afield at sunset to check the status of the local wildflower scene. The whole April showers thing…

I found a spot carpeted with beautiful yellow blooms mostly at the end of their life. I am late as usual. I snapped a few frames but the shot that made the cut for the post includes a star from the insect world. Makes sense, a hillside buffet is a great place to spot a bee.

Working with models is not always easy. “Turn towards the camera” or “say nectar” had no effect. No matter what I tried I was ignored in favor of the pollen laden bloom.
