Rising above the corral fence, our row of Mammoth variety sunflowers have opened their blooms to the late August world.

One particular bloom has a yellow seed bed, unique among the others standing nearby with their brownish-black centers edged by yellow leaves.

Not one of a kind outside of our garden, but different enough to star as the subject of this post:
