I returned to the archives today and found a picture from August 12, 2013. I had joined another firefighter from my home town and with our brush engine we responded for the night shift on the Millville Fire.
Our first assignment that night was to assist with a firing operation taking place in the mouth of Blacksmith Fork Canyon. As we slowly worked our way into the canyon I made this shot of a firing team member just after a new fusee had been struck, flooding the scene with a brilliant red light source:
