Capturing Emotion

Posted on | February 25, 2013 | No Comments

Just over a year ago we attended the wedding reception of a nephew and his new bride. I was not the official photographer for the event, but amidst the time spent exploring the venue – a spacious art museum – and visiting with family, I took a few shots of the action and they have been sitting in an archive folder on my computer since then.

I was in the “what did I see last year” mode tonight and I decided to work up one particular image I took from the reception, of the bride and her father sharing a dance:

DanceWhether it is a landscape, a landmark, or a quiet, reflective moment such as in this picture, capturing the moment in a way that lets the viewer share in the emotion is the challenge of photography.

I have enjoyed the journey so far and it is only beginning.
