Losing track of time, it was extremely late into sunset when I finally got out of doors to see what it was all about. I looked to the west and while studying the sky just above the mountains there was a hint of color remaining, although it was faint. I setup the camera and tripod to see if I could pull some color out of the blue with a long exposure shot.
114 seconds later, the color I hoped to find had appeared out of the deep blue of twilight. It was also enough time for the slightly moving clouds to create a wave-like effect above Gunsight Peak:
